A Very Interesting Book (SSR)

Last week my friend let me borrow this book to read. Every since my eyes has been glued to the book. I am now on the second to last chapter in the book I am so eager to read everyday. I read this book when Im on my way to school and I read this book when Im bored at home. Any chance I get to read I do. This book represents the drug game in the late 80's from the inner cities of Philadelphia. A young girl named Gina from the projects in Harlem who meets and falls in love with a drug dealer named Quadir. Quadir has a daily battle with the streets fighting over his drug empire. Gena faces challenges holding on to her life dealing with people wanting her dead because she's Quadirs' girlfriend. Both of them find themselves caught up in vicious world battling against those who hate them and their success.   Reading this book it really opened my eyes to what happens in the drug game. Although this book is fiction the drug game inspired it. I found this book very interesting because I havent read anything like it. One thing I liked while reading this book was there were so many surprises. Many things happened in each chapter that I didnt expect. It was such an interesting book , i recommended this book to
Jenai. I also heard that there is a part 2 and 3 to the book which Im very eager to read.

My Only Sister ( FC)

My little sister and I have a love hate relationship. We can be mad at each other for the most simplest things. My sister is 11 years old in the 7th grade and she swears she knows it all. She is really smart but she likes to flaunt it to much. She always want to challenge me when it comes to school and its so annoying. Knowing that I am older and smarter I really try to ignore her. A lot of our arguments are school based. We argue about whose better in math , science and english. One argument leads into another and we will be fist fighting. I can honestly say that those arguments actually build our relationship. Even though arguing with her is annoying I actually love it. It makes me happy arguing with her. Sometimes I would be immature and start the arguments. I think she loves arguing too because she actually entertains it. I really enjoy my little sisters company she is my only sister. Without her my house would be so boring with no one for me to talk to. I know that when I go off to college my sister will miss me but I am going to miss her to. She always acts like she does not like me but I know she loves me.

I Actually Like School (PB)

As I got older I grew passionate towards school. When I was in elementary school I hated school. There were so many annoying kids and annoying teachers. Teachers were the worst , always telling you what to do like they were your parent. Teachers always yelled and they were so boring to me. I used to think school was so pointless. At a young age this mentality was really bad. What I didnt know was that school was actually helpful. School actual taught me new things. After a while I fell in love with learning something new. Anytime I learned something new in school I was so happy. Learning something new made me happy because I realized it was the reason My mom made me come to school everyday. When my grades started improving I started to like school. I grew passionate towards school. I started to enjoy challenges. Teachers were still annoying to me but I learned that I should care less about that and more about the work. Now that I am in highschool I really enjoy learning. There are so many different level of maths and sciences. My favorite subject is math. Im passionate about math as well. Im passionate about math because theres so many new things to learn. I actually enjoy coming to school everyday all though im late sometimes. I also like school because of my friends.

Interdisciplinary Post (ID)

In Statistics, we are learning about data collection. Statistics is the science of collecting , organizing, analyzing and interpreting data in order to make decisions. Data consists of information coming from observations , counts , measurements or responses. This week, we are learning about the four methods to collecting data. The four methods are survey use, simulation use of mathematics / physical model , observation study and experiment. I am not too familiar with these methods so reading my notes over and over will help me get a better understanding. The first method is using a survey which is an investigation of one or more traits of a population. The investigation is done through questioning and interviewing in person, phone or mail. The second method is simulation use of mathematics which allows researchers to study situations that are impractical or too dangerous to create in real life. The third method is observation study which is when researchers observe and measure characteristics of the sample group of interest but, do not change the conditions of the group. The last method is experiment which is when members of the sample group and responses are observed. I know that towards the end of this week Mr. Rich will test us on this information.
