White Lines by Tracy Brown
I first read this book in the 9th grade. I was a freshman in Thurgood Marshall. I received the book from one of close friends. I really didnt want to read the book because it was so big, it had a lot of pages. My friend really recommended the book so I knew it was going to be good. I opened the book and read the first few pages it was sooo good. Its about a girl named Jada who grew up living a really hard life. Her mom was never home she was always at work. Jadas father died so she was raised by her stepfather. Jadas stepfather was a good father to her up until the point Jada became a teenager. When she hit her teens he treated her so badly with little respect. Jada couldnt understand why his new attitude was like this towards her. At the age of 17 Jada couldnt take it and she decided to leave her home. From then on Jada journey of a crazy life in the streets began. I can truly say this is my favorite book. I like this book because it shows a beautiful lesson on how someone who started at the bottom can make it to the top.
OMG ! this is my favorite book ! I enjoyed the connection between Jada and her boyfriend. There bond was so romantic to me, and I like how through all there struggles they managed to get through it with the help of one another. I feel that all the struggles Jada went through made her a stronger and wiser person and I would really recommend this book to many young adults.
ReplyDeleteFrom your little description of what the book is about, I must say that it sounds really good and maybe I will get the book to see what it is about. Maybe it would give a very good message about life struggles to how we can overcome them.
