Upcoming Exam (ID)

On Friday November 8 , there will be a statistics exam. When ever I hear the word exam I get so nervous. Exams are always hard for me because there based off information we learned from day one. Writing this blog will help me study for the exam. Topics included on the exam will be methods of data collection , Bias , how to create frequency tables & histograms and how to create dot plots and outliers. If you look at my blog from a couple of weeks ago I wrote a post about the methods of data collection. Bias is when the results of the sample are not representative of the population. There are 3 Sources of bias , sampling bias , non response bias and response bias. I really have a hard time remember the 3 but Im going to study so it can stick in my head. A sampling bias is used to obtain the individuals in sample. A nonresponse bias exists when individuals in the sample dont respond to the survey. A response bias exists when the answers on a survey dont reflect the respondents feelings. I also have to remember the 4 methods of data collection , which are a use of survey , simulation us of mathematical model , observation study and experiment. The exam will also include the level of measurements which is nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio. So far these are things I know off the top of my head I will study for the next couple days. Mr . Rich also gave us a review packet that we can always go over to help us study.

  1. I think it's great that you use your ID blogs to help you study. It's a good study tool. It is interesting that you are focusing just on math. Does math require a lot of study time for you?
